Some advice from Red, so you can make the most of your weekend.
CAMPING
Camping can be so fun! It can also be very unfun if you forget your sleeping bag.
Here's a list of handy supplies that we recommend considering:
- A roof over your head (tent, swag, yurt, igloo, umbrella)
- Sleeping bag and extra blankets
- Pillow
- Fairy lights
- Plenty of drinking water
- Snacks
- Torch/head torch
- Camp chairs
- Table
- Playing cards
- Communal gazebo (make sure you tie it down properly please)
- Portable charger
- Bin bags
We have plenty of space to camp everyone, but the available area is a first-come-first-served type situation.
Arrive in convoy with your friends so you can set up in the same spot.
Watch out for strings and pegs when passing through the camp ground. A torch will help with this.
Camping is included in your ticket.
OTHER THINGS TO BRING
- A designated driver. Plan ahead.
- Warm clothes. It'll very likely get pretty damn cold. Shiver me timbers.
- Sturdy, reliable shoes. Two pairs if you've got 'em. Three pairs might be overkill. Four pairs is a bold move. 5 pairs is an unnecessary flex. 6 is ridiculous.
- Raincoat.
- Sunscreen.
- Physical photo ID.
- OJ.
- Toiletries.
- Your card and some cash too, cos why not.
- Earplugs! Read below the words of the wisest man goin' around: Mr Kurt Vile.
When I was young I liked to hear music blarin'
And I wasn't carin to neuter my jams with earplugs
But these days I inhabitate a high-pitched ring over things
So these days I plug em up.
Smart man, he is. Plug em up.
FOOD AND DRINK
Bring a re-fillable water bottle. Drink heaps of water, that stuff is good for you.
We will have a drinking water supply on site, but bring plenty of your own as well! Maybe like at least 10 litres?
RGP is a BYO alcohol festival. Details regarding BYO can be found in the R&Rs.
Bring plenty of food and snacks! However, due to fire hazards, gas stoves and cooking appliances are prohibited. Please respect this rule. Pleeease.
We are raising funds for The Shed at T. Ricky Grill, so go and treat yourself to a brekkie sanga there. There will be local food trucks on site also.
WEATHER PREPAREDNESS
The weather down this way is infamously unpredictable. Showers and breezes aren't uncommon in any given season, especially springtime.
We suggest bringing a waterproof jacket and wellies if you've got em, just in case. Throw in a beanie and a hat, and some warm socks, cos why not.
Check the weather before you pack, and make sure you're properly prepared for rail, hail, or shine.
TRANSPORTATION
Red Gum Pass is a 4.5 hour drive from Perth, mostly down Albany Hwy. It's about 40mins from Albany and an hour from Denmark.
Please please please take it easy on the highway! Especially if you've got passengers - you're carrying precious cargo.
If you live in Perth, Margs or anywhere up that way, it won't be possible to knock off work at 5pm on Friday and drive all the way to The Pass.
We suggest booking the Friday off in advance, and hit the road by midday at the latest. Carpooling is a great idea, so get organised with your mates.
Kangaroos are bouncing all over the shop by the time it's 8pm, so that's when the gates will close.
If on Sunday morning you're under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or you haven't slept, under no circumstance should you be getting behind the wheel.
PARKING
The car park is situated right next to the camp ground. Parking is included in your ticket.
The idea is, you park your car in the designated carpark and walk about 50-100m to set up camp.
Your car will remain accessible at all times, but you won't be able to move it once parked. That is, you can't come and go from the site as you please.
FACILITIES
Toilets are found atop the hill just near the pass. We unfortunately can't provide showers this year, it's too expensive and complicated...
If you desperately need connection to power, come see us at HQ.
ACCESSIBILITY
We care deeply about meeting everyone's accessibility needs, and believe all festivals should be accessible to everyone.
However, unfortunately, operating for the first time in this capacity on a farm, and with a small budget, comes with many challenges, and we can't guarantee that we can cater for everyone's needs this year.

We love lasers and flashing lights. Please be wary that the stage will have moments of intense lighting effects.
